Overview

WasteDisposalgr is a mobile-first concept for smarter everyday waste disposal. The app helps citizens identify the right bin, understand the separation process, unlock a smart bin and earn loyalty points, while a location map makes nearby disposal points easier to find.

01 / The brief

Make correct waste separation easier at the moment it matters.

The concept connects bin management with citizen education. Instead of asking users to remember disposal rules, the app presents the relevant instructions immediately after they select the type of waste.

The experience was designed mobile-first because the critical interaction happens outdoors, beside the bin, where information needs to be fast, clear and actionable.

02 / Personas

One service, three very different reasons to use it.

The personas cover an engaged citizen who needs reliable guidance, a technology-comfortable student motivated by rewards and an operations manager who needs visibility into full or damaged bins.

This widened the concept beyond a single consumer flow and exposed the future need for reporting and operational information without overloading the first MVP.

03 / User flows

The architecture is organised around four understandable tasks.

Registration creates the user profile. The loyalty flow makes participation visible. Waste-type selection connects each material to the right instructions and bin. Reporting remains a clearly identified future service layer.

Breaking the service into these paths kept the application focused and made the MVP easier to prioritise.

04 / Interface

Every screen moves the user toward one clear next action.

The prototype covers account creation, sign-in, a location-aware home screen, material selection, disposal instructions, digital bin access, the loyalty profile and a map of disposal points.

The visual hierarchy stays deliberately light so that instructions and primary actions remain usable on the move.

05 / MVP

A focused first release creates the foundation for a larger service.

The defined MVP includes registration, bin selection, disposal instructions, unlocking, loyalty points, user profile and a location map.

Operational reports can follow once the core citizen journey is validated, keeping the first product coherent while leaving a clear route for expansion.
